Thanks for the pointer to Shiny Toy Guns, Sam!

I sure do like Rhapsody! Search on Shiny Toy Guns and I'm in synth-pop
heaven. I hear New Order, Thomas Dolby, Ultravox, Alphaville, and OMD... I
wonder if any of the musicians in STG were even born when this stuff came
around originally. Maybe their parents played this music for them when they
were babies in their cribs... Hearing STG motivates me to digitize some
videos of my 1983 synth-pop band "The UltraViolet Catastrophe" and put them
on YouTube. So far I only have a relatively ancient Real Media video of us
up at <http://www.arsdivina.com/video/Captive.html> for reference. I'm the
one playing the ARP Odyssey...

Speaking of babies in cribs - last Tuesday I went to see the Adrian Belew
Power Trio at the Triple Door in Seattle. Adrian's rhythm section was Eric
and Julie Slick, a brother and sister pair. Eric is 19 years old on drums
and Julie, 20, plays bass. Wow. These kids pulled off full and extended King
Crimson tunes like Thela Hun Ginjeet and Elephant Talk on a tiny drum kit
and Fender Jazz bass. They weren't even born when these songs were
written...

Usually to play with the ability they showed you have to be practicing for
20 years, not just to be alive that long... Check out
<www.rockschoolthemovie.com> to see where they were trained. I was lucky
enough to co-interview them for a podcast in October; you can hear it at
<http://www.krimson-news.com/2006/10/31/>

Thanks again!
