While I wouldn't invoke C, S & N, I can see where others might.  One other 
thing -- the way that their words sometimes have this rustic and 
mythological quality that is really cool -- from that standpoint, there's a 
broadly common kinship with The Arcade Fire and The Decemberists -- they 
also share a certain grandeur, though they are in no way as musically 
forceful as either of those bands can  be.
