Seems like you'll have a fairly limited musical universe if you avoid singers/songwriters with whom you disagree.

***Certainly you're not saying that one has to be lockstep with a performer's views, political or otherwise, in order to enjoy their music, do you?

I happen to like Steve Earle, have a number of his albums but roll my eyes when he gets politically preachy during his live shows. (Although I do agree with his stand on the death penalty.)

I happen to like Wilco, have all their albums but roll my eyes when Jeff Tweedy gets politically preachy during their lives shows.

I've put plenty of money in Sir Paul McCartney's pocket over the past 25 years or so but that doesn't mean I want to hear him get preachy about vegetarianism and animal rights.

I could go on with other examples but won't belabor the point. I think you can enjoy a musician's music but don't necessarily have to agree with everything they say. They certainly have every right to say it but I don't have to listen if I choose.
