Party-Pop meisters The Kings were originally a prog rock act called
WhistleKing before someone told them that New Wave was going to be the next
commercial explosion. Dave Diamond and Mister Zero put on skinny ties,
rolled up the sleeves on their suit jackets, shortened their name and went
Top40 with "This Beat Goes On/Switchin' To Glide" in 1980.
