Pop Songs Your New Boyfriend's Too Stupid to Know
About - Tullycraft
Singing In My Sleep - Semisonic
Radio Song - R.E.M.
That Was the Greatest Song - Pooh Sticks
Don't Put Another Dime In the Jukebox - The Flirts
Your Song - Elton John
This is Not a Love Song - PiL
I Heard Ramona Sing - Frank Black
Hey Baby, They're Playing Our Song - Buckinghams
I'll Have to Say 'I Love You' In a Song - Jim Croce
There'll Be Sad Songs - Billy Ocean
You're So Vain - Carly Simon
Heard It In a Love Song - Marshall Tucker Band
OK, some of these are a little more about bands, or
mix tapes, or are self-referential, or what have you,
but I think they are in the spirit of the thing.
I also wanted to include 'My 36 Favorite Punk Songs'
by Jason Forrest. While not "about" a song, it
features samples of (as you might expect) his 36
favorite punk songs, all strung together to make a
brand new song.
