Andy Pratt is a Boston-area singer songwriter with an interesting but
erratic 35 + year career.
"Annie" is his masterpeice, one of those songs that blows away everyone
who hears it for the first time. Stunning piano work, a wild falsetto
vocal, and an amazing arrangement all around...one of the best songs
I have ever heard, one of those songs I never get sick of.
Don't get your hopes up about his albums, though...while some of his
other music is good (and some isn't), none of it really sounds anything
like this song.
The song was used in the VELVET GOLDMINE soundtrack, interestingly,
even though he is abotu as far from glam as you can get.
