Surfing away one day I came across a power pop blog that you could download full unavailable albums
with a password which was given to you. Too good to be true. Didn't work...at least with a Mac.
Anyway...they also had a link to a video by one of the artists they were talking about...Hilly Michaels "Calling All Girls"
GREAT video that reminds me why I watched eMpTV at one time...1980...phew.
I went to ebay and got a mint copy of his 1st album 'Calling All Girls'- and apart from 2 songs where he's being 'funny'?
the album is a power pop gem! It's produced by Roy Thomas Baker and it's classic 80's newwavepowerpop. Somewhat Cars-ish as
Greg Hawkes guests as well as GE Smith, Dan Hartman, Ellen Foley and more. Great songs, great production, good playing and singing
and great chord progressions...what more could I ask for...oh, yeah, It was like brand new and I won it for $1...plus shipping.
Yeah me!
Anyone heard his other album "Lumia"?
later, joe
