The guy behind the counter at the Concord CA Tower was very open about 
how each staff member there put a large stack of stuff to the side, 
waiting for the bigger discounts. He said his stack was about $500 at 
retail---and that others had much bigger stashes than he did.

So even if something good is "in stock", doesn't mean any average 
customer will find it on the sales floor.
