WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - After a lengthy auction stretching over two days, a federal bankruptcy judge on Friday approved the sale of California-based Tower Records to Great American Group, which plans to liquidate the music retailer.

i gotta say tho, Tower clearly did not value their customers enough to lower their insane $16.99 price on most cd's.....let's face it, thats what competition is for, but in many ways, they sealed their own fate by not giving the customer better prices....I won't miss them!

btw, for any Boston area listers, Newbury Comics has the new Byrds box set for $29.95, which I need like a hole in the head, but there you go!!
