I just got my grubby, trembling, sweaty hands on Andy Patridge's Fuzzy
Warbles Collectors Album.
The album itself is in a clear plastic sleeve that slips off. The back of
the sleeve has the track listings for all nine discs in the series.
The album itself is sturdy, and size-wise is a little larger than 4 jewel
cases square. The artwork on the cover is colorful and playful and perfectly
Andy Partridge, with two people riding a rocket that's spewing stamps.
Inside, there are 4 compartments that hold the eight CDs in the FW series.
The ninth bonus disc, "Hinges", comes in a custom cardboard sleeve, not a
jewel case.
The booklet is wide enough to drape across two CD compartments. It's like a
larger version of the Chick Tracts.
And the final treat: a sheet of actual pre-glued stamps that reproduce the
postage-themed Fuzzy Warble covers.
I ordered the album in combination with the last two discs of the FW series,
volumes 7 and 8. And sure enough, just like volumes 1 through 6, Andy signed
them in gold ink.
Haven't had a chance to listen to the music yet, but if it's anything like
the volumes that have come before, it's going to be great.
What an early Christmas present for the discriminating XTC fan. Yay!
