Long time no post.
First I'd like to recommend the new Doug Powell CD, the tunes just leap from
the speakers. I've always thought what makes good-to-great pop
"transplendent" is great vocals and Doug has got them. I liked the new (and
old) Monkeeman CDs, but not as much as this one. Here are the releases I'm
really looking forward to:
L.E.O. - "Alpacas Orgling" - Bruce, I hope the extras for the release are
tangible (i.e. CDs). Living in the land of dial-up, I get no benefit from
downloadable extras.
Silver Sun - "Dad's Weird Dream" A promo copy is coming my way from England
as I type. The new (and altered) version will be officially released in
England at the end of October.
New Popium!!!
The complete Get Smart series from Time-Life
Police Squad! on DVD
and the thing I'm most excited about..........John Borack's Power Pop Book
and CD!!!!!!!
I just picked up the new ELO remasters for "Face The Music" and "A New
World's Record" and they are swell. I saw 2 Nazz releases with tons of
bonus tracks - does anybody else have information regarding these?
My fingers are still crossed for tangible evidence of new releases for Redd
Kross and Second Saturday - this might be one FANTASTIC fall!!
Mike
One last item - If anyone has any information on getting the ABC movie "The
Tenth Level" with William Shatner (and, I think, a young John Travolta), it
is my current Holy Grail to acquire.
