Well, Woot.com had something that sounds like this for sale a few weeks
ago from Logitech

http://www.woot.com/Forums/ViewPost.aspx?PostID=683320

I don't know how well it works (and you have to go past the first few
pages of comments on any Woot discussion to get to actual usable
commentary and opinions), but I've been happy with my other Logitech
wireless gear that I've gotten from Woot.

Subject: Somewhat of an iPod related question

Message-ID: <003b01c6dcd7$2d2f1ee0$0300a8c0@D7287M71>

Sorry to those who wish this thread would end, but one of the reasons
mentioned for purchasing an iPod was the ability to have 60GB of music
to play in a docking station in the house or to hook up to the
stereo...which comes in quite nice for parties for just for general
listening throughout the day.

For me, this is probably the main reason I would consider purchasing an
iPod (since I don't really have much of a need for portability of music
files).

However, since I already have an external 120GB hard drive connected to
my PC that is dedicated strictly to music files, I am looking for
something that would allow me to access the music files on my hard drive
and play them on any device in my house....preferably my home stereo. I
have a wireless network on my PC, so I imagine there is some type of
device that could access the files via the network. I am not sure if
the price or network setup hassles of such a device may make the iPod a
more attractive route, but it seems that if I just want to play back
files already stored on my PC, the simplest route is to just get a
device that can access those files.

Has anyone played around with this type of setup? If so, can you offer
any recomendations/caveats, etc?

Thanks in advance.

Mark E.
