Hi

Joe listed the codecs that the iPod can handle, notably absent is .wma, the Windows format I have my music on my computer. So I have an iRiver instead of an iPod. I can use this mp3 player as a back up hard drive, so if my comnputer crashes, I can restore my hard drive's music.
When I rip my music I do not copy protect it.

I bet Microsoft's Zune will give Apple stiff competition.

See ya,
Sherman

NP: Eytan Mirsky, "I'm Losing You" from This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio, Volume 2
The bridge of this song lasts 14 seconds, which may be the shortest ever written. Great song.
