.... sigh ... or it could just be a convenient way to carry around a ton of 
music in the car
if you hate listening to radio and don't want CDs all over the damn place.
If, however, you want to go all Bob Clearmountain with studio-quality sound 
quality then a portable player the size of a deck of cards probably isn't 
for you. Instead, you should probably lock yourself in your acoustically 
perfect living room, strap the noise-canceling headphones to your ears, and 
retreat from the wide world.
Christ, 7-inch singles sounded like crap on my first hi-fi, but I still 
shook my ass.

These discussions always crack me up ...
