The new Fufkin.com page is up. This is a double issue, representing the end
of summer vacation (August) and the beginning of the school year
(September). This may be deep and meaningful, or just the way things worked
out. This issue has the following record reviews:

Mike Bennett presents full length reviews of The Pipettes, The Keene
Brothers (Tommy Keene and Robert Pollard of Guided By Voices), Radio
Birdman, Oneida, The Futureheads, Office, Pet Shop Boys, The New York Dolls
and the latest all covers CD by Michael Carpenter. Mike also has capsule
reviews of Marty Rudnick, The Studiofix, Alcian Blue, Golden Bear, Magnolia
Summer, Boys On Trial, Beatnik Filmstars, The Handsome Family, Andre
Williams with the Diplomats Of Solid Sound, The Methadones, Rahim, Alejandro
Escovedo, Glorious Day, The One And Only Typicals, The Sound Team, The
American Werewolf Academy, Leels, The Goldstars, Cats & Jammers, Adam Power,
a live Stereophonics album, a Happy Hate Me Nots anthology, reissues of the
first four Andy Kim albums, a compilation of the New York City ‘80s band The
Cosmopolitans, a Phoenix soul music collection, and, a compilation of Martin
Gordon’s solo work.

We also direct you to Fufkin writer Michael Lynch’s podcast (go to the page
for the link!)

Gary Pig Gold talks to Steven Butler, who was in the ‘80s new wave band
Quincy, but now is in the fine jangle rock band Smash Palace.

We go back in the past to look at a Lester Bangs piece on Van Morrison.

Eric Sorensen has more observations on jangly music (since he’s a fan) – a
new Bobby Sutliff release gets Eric started (and we should all be jealous),
and then he talks about tributes (Buffalo Springfield and Tom Petty), and
then covers Feel, Marty Rudnick, Keene Brothers, Doug Powell, The Nines, The
Innocents, Jamie Hoover and a whole lot more.

Finally, Mike Bennett ponders the notion of authenticity in rock music.

We hope you all come and visit us.
