Well, if nothing else, I'm predictable.
"Sound Of The Radio" by Screen Test (available on the group's anthology CD,
INSPIRED HUMANS MAKING NOISE, on Japan's Air Mail Recordings), plus "Radio" by
The Flashcubes (currently a 45 B-side, only).
"Sound Of The Radio" also appears on the new Dana & Carl compilation CD, THIS
IS ROCK 'N' ROLL RADIO, VOLUME 2. Another song on this disc, "Carl
Cafarelli" by Beauty Scene Outlaws, is specifically about a guy whose girlfriend
doesn't understand that he can't go out partying, because he'd prefer to stay home
and listen to me on the radio. Yes, it's science-fiction.
Our first CD, THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL RADIO, VOLUME 1, includes "Carl (You Da
Man)" by The Flashcubes; its title notwithstanding, the song is about the songs
we play on our radio show, and the lyrics are almost entirely made up of
power pop song titles ("Do you remember rock 'n' roll radio?/Top Of The Pops, and
Ready Steady Go/You've got pictures of Lilly, and Matchstick Men....").
Both CDs were released by JAM Recordings, and are available from JAM, Not
Lame, Kool Kat Musik, Heyday and Jealousy. To support my starving creditors, you
can also buy them from me at CD Baby CD Baby: This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio,
Volume 1 and CD Baby: This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio, Volume 2.
Sorry for the hype.... Say, did anyone mention "Who Listens To The Radio?"
by The Sports?
