Just wanted to say how sadenned i was to hear about the passing of Bruce Gary. As a youngster i listened to that first Knack album a lot, and used to stare at the picture on the back cover and marvel at the way they were all setup. I loved how Bruce Gary was sitting up high like Ringo, but his drumming on that albums was like the template for my favourite drumming in pop music. Manic and Keith Moon like, but with incredible taste and feel. If i could play drums it would have been like him, and it's sad that he passed so young.

In terms of new music, i'm loving the Marty Rudnick album. He kinda came from nowhere, but sounds like he's been doing it a long time. Great choices of covers too. Who would have thought to do a powerpop version of an Everly Brothers tune? And the album is filled with variety.. everything from the classic pop of Some Summer to the country twang of Coyote (Marty sounds like he plays a mean telecaster) and the pretty lounge pop of Lucky Day. But the standout track is the simple 'Only Heaven Knows'. It reminds me of other classic pop ballads, like "If I Fell'. Understated, simple but beautiful and potent. I think there's a lot here for Auditeers to like.

  Adam
