<snip/paste>... Last year, someone made the outstanding recommendation
of the Freaks and
Geeks TV series on DVD, which was followed by Undeclared.
My latest discovery (also recommended on this list ages ago) is a series
called Wonderfalls...another series cancelled due to...excellent
writing? Highly recommended! Bringing it back on topic? The
theme song I believe is written and performed by Andy Partridge. A
fine quirky pop tune to match a most excellent quirky TV show.
You know, remove the commercials, and some of these TV shows on DVD beat
the hell out of much of the so-called blockbuster Hollywood movies these
days.
*** I reply:
Hey Marty!
Are you the one who's been sneakin' the cashews out of my kitchen while
I've been asleep? You been cherry pickin' my Netflix queue? You been
watchin' TV through my living room window? <grin>
Those are EXACTLY the last three series I've watched, IN ORDER, on DVD.
Great minds think alike, and all that ...
Anyoldway, I've followed those three up with the Showtime series "Dead
Like Me" and I've been enjoying it as well. I only saw a couple of
episodes while it was actually running, so watching them all now back to
back has been fun. Not everyone's cup of tea, I'm guessing, but you may
want to check it out if you haven't alreay. Love that Ellen Muth. Grim
Reapers on Holiday, you can hardly beat that with a stick .. (And yes
indeed, that's Andy Partridge doing the theme song for Wonderfalls).
Peace out, my brother in TV Land,
jeff teez (who's following Dead Like Me with "American Gothic: The
Complete Series")
