Hi all--

Arthur Bang nailed last Saturday's IPO matinee perfectly.

Chris von Sneidern's extended set was the highlight for me. The fact that he
drove down from the San Francisco Bay Area in his van, did the gig AND then
returned home on the I-5 through the tortuous San Joaquin Valley speaks
volumes about CVS as a musician and a person. Well done.

Now, on to last Sunday evening...

DAREN SWEET is a first generation IPO artist who played the festival back in
'99. He got the evening rolling and has an appropriately named CD called
"Pop's Three Minute Pleasures." THE BARRY HOLDSHIP FOUR brought along their
winning blend of powerpop and roots Americana. Could the follow up to
Barry's "Ruff Trax" CD be in the works? Let's hope so.

Back in the 80s, when the Go-Gos were on vacation and the Bangles were
instructing the world on how to walk like an Egyptian, THE LITTLE GIRLS were
warning Southern Californians about earthquakes. The Little Girls are still
little and still cute. The Joint nightclub crowd cheered on Caron and
Michele Naso as they performed "The Earthquake Song" for their finale.
Following The Little Girls was pop veteran Todd Spahr's (The Cavedogs)
current project, BOX. The band's music is more vibrant and exciting then the
moniker suggests.

THE SKIES OF AMERICA and THE BREAKUP SOCIETY (two cool bands, two cool
names) concluded the first IPO-LA weekend with their rousing sets.

Further IPO updates as they are made available.....

Steve
