Hi,

I've made up my mind that I only buy re-masters of an album, that I already have, once a decade. Or maybe, if there is the addition of some extra material that is "new songs", and not alternate versions of songs that I have. Usually there's not significant enough difference in sound quality after just four or five years, that you just can't "turn it up" or change your equalizer a bit to get the same effect.

Also, it seems that you only bat 50-50 on remasters - some have better sound quality and are worth it; some have better sound quality, but drop the bass line, the vocal, or the guitar-line, that really made the song, lower into the mix ruining/or lessening some songs. I got the recent remaster of "self-titled" by the German Hair-Metal band Zeno last year, and they tampered with the original levels on various instruments, and screwed the thing all up, IMHO.

  Peace,

  Live it........... Large
