Folks
Johnny Dowd just blasted through Vancouver last night and I posted a video
we shot up on YouTube.com
This is amazing power trio old school rock funk - they kicked off the set
with a Thelonious Monk cover and took off from there. Best show I've seen
by him.... wow!
I bring it up only as a change of pace for the musicians on this list to
check him out if he's coming to a town near you - drummer plays bass with
his foot (kick drum with the other - see video). Keyboard player is Jimmy
Smith gone wild - some jaw-dropping Hammond moves....
it's not pop within the audities definition but as a great night out of
music in general, well worth the money spent... (it is NOT in any way
roots or acoustic or Americana or anything like that, I don't even know
HOW to explain it... hopefully the video helps)
