I have recommended it to a LOT of my fellow Xers, and most of them come
back with the same kind of reaction you had. Up until I read it, I
wandered around wondering what the hell was wrong with me. While there
are plenty of things wrong with me, I'm sure, it wasn't until reading
13th Gen that I realized it wasn't just ME.
X is what it is, but it is that way for some important reasons.

you'd hear a voice kissing and talking deep love in every
shadow of the ditch, and you passing on with an empty,
hungry stomach failing from your heart."
