Yeah I understand that. More just my emotional reaction to it I guess.

Funny you should say that. I recently found out my bank is the a
huge financial backer of the Republican party (and to state the
obvious, no they are NOT my party). I am strongly considering
changing banks (now if only the amount of money in my bank had any
real impact):). I don't mean this to get political (in a left vs.
right sort of way) but more that I'm certain our money is used in
means that may go against our wishes every single day. Like how
several years ago people were talking about only buying American made
cars, despite the fact that the car they bought could have had more
Japanese parts then some of the Japanese cars they want you to
boycott.
I don't say this as an excuse in terms of making moral choices
about where we spend our money. I think a goal in life ought to be
having your own moral compass on things that matter to you. And I
agree and personally think it's important to support Not Lame and
have done so myself per the music, philosophy, vision and the
honestly the man (hence my reaction to Bruce's post). Whether I have
done so "enough", I don't honestly know.
But, Gary you keep going after lala like they are such a major
fiend in music. What you see as an immoral lie by lala isn't one for
me. That's fine for you to have that opinion. I just don't share it
as having the same weight you give it. I also don't share an opinion
that anyone who thinks lala makes sense for them is making a bad
moral decision, are being somehow duped or that it's going to impact
the future world in some negative way. I guess, to me there are such
bigger moral fish to fry then lala's trading site and even much
bigger music outlet giants (Bestbuy, Walmart) doing so much more
harm.
Via lala, I've mostly picked up old things I use to have on albums
that I couldn't afford or couldn't justify spending the cash on to
replace. I don't say that with defensiveness but in pure moral
consciousness of my actions. I hope someday lala makes money hand
over fist per the great service they offer.
Morality isn't black or white is it? And finally....
