You can't use the conversion from one currency to another as a means of
comparing market share.
The UK iTunes is concerned only with competing against other UK downloading
sites -- not the rest of the market in other territories. If UK customers
are used to paying 99p per track from, say Napster or Geneva, then 79p is
actually a better price in that marketplace.
If we use your argument then Canadian iTunes customers should have to pay
$1.11 per track because it would be equal to the American iTunes equivalent
of $0.99 per track.
Currencies and territories are self-contained.
