i LOVED the Chords!

The semi-recent cd of their first LP on Captain Oi! is a great release.....to be sure, they were Jam-like, but with more of a power pop side, and less strident than Weller definitely...

Great crashing power chords and most of the songs are dang good-"In My Street" is one of my all time faves (bought the import single in 1981, so it has sentimental value too).....their last 2 singles on UK Polydor, with a new singer, are still waiting to be re-released...."One More Minute" was decent but "Turn Away Again" their final 45 was awesome.....

There are few live cd's, like one at the BBC, and another live in Paris, which are ok, but go for the Captain Oi reissue first I say.....

You could do worse, and I think they were the most consistent of all the UK mod bands of the era-some like Killermeters and the like are really uneven to my ears....
