I preferred NYR to Trouser Press. At least during the Alan Betrock era. Their
regional coverage was top notch with each city covered by a local. TP was too
anglophile for my blood. I feared my pile of NYR's were falling apart
but stumbling
upon them recently (digging out Realists for a friend) I was happy to see the
newsprint is holding up quite well (better than the 15-to-20 year
older Realists).
My add - Search & Destroy - which I understand Re/Search reprinted completely
sometime back. San Francisco punks were always so freakin serious in an
art school way.
There was an awesome UK magazine that serialized a 70's punk/new wave/etc
discography. It was very hip ala BOMP!. We've discussed the mag here before
but can't remember the name.
Once there were a couple of little but mighty pop mags - Pop Sided & Audities.
