Mark Knopfler, maybe. I have heard some of his stuff that didn't strike
me as effing brilliant like his other tunes, but I have never heard him
do anything that made me cringe.
Scott Joplin? Rodgers and Hart? Hoagy Carmichael? Gustav Mahler? :P
