It was very cool to see twenty people absolutely blown away by the Adam Marsland
Chaos Band Monday night. I know this for a fact, since they literally all came
up and told me after the show. We had to gently throw them all out...nobody
wanted to leave! But that was okay, since the longer they hung around the merch
table, the more they bought.

The venue loved the band, and the band loved the venue - so much so that Adam
and Co. went for 2-plus hours. Aside from the Carl and Dennis songs, we were
treated to Adam's killer pop, Alan Boyd's uncanny ability to channel the vocal
stylings of individual Beach Boys (buy his CD!), and Evie's heavy-on-the-power
"I Can't Let Go." Other treats were "Hot Fun In The Summertime" and "Heroes and
Villans." They were messing around with something at the sound check, and after
I egged 'em on, they floored the crowd with "Wouldn't It Be Nice."

Adam was having some hilarious banter back and forth with the hardcore BB fans
who were hollering out requests. Dennis' "Forever" was absolutely beautiful.
And Evie spoke to the hometown in "Pittsburghese."

Pre-show fun included an a capella "Heroes and Villains" in Pittsburgh Guitars
while Teresa's bass amp was being looked at, and a reworking of "Kokomo" with
Pittsburgh Steeler references after I said that if nobody came to the show I
was gonna have 'em come back next time and do a Steeler Fight Song tribute
show. This took place at a gyro shop.

Needless to say, folks, if they're coming to your area, do NOT miss this show!

Greg Matecko
