I remember Mike from his early days in Iron Mountain, Michigan. Trying to
run a store like his in a town of 10,000 people in the middle of nowhere? I
admired him, but noticed he was always running around the country to record
conventions trying to make a living. I got transferred through Iron
Mountain during my stint working for the government. I remember the shock
on his face when I came into his store one day carrying a stack of 70's punk
45's and an almost complete back issue collection of Trouser Press.
Apparently, I wasn't your typical "Yooper" (Upper Peninsula of Michigan)
music lover. Anyway, it's nice to see he made it last all these years,
albeit in a *slightly* larger market.
