I want to mention Skip Groff from Yesterday & Today Records in Rockville MD. Skip was always turning us on to new stuff, and would make yearly trips to the UK to get great punk and new wave records before they were known in the USA. In addition, he was a HUGE supporter of local DC area music,and released a lot of it on his own LIMP records label. Listen to "Stepping Stone" by Minor Threat to hear Ian thank Skip at the end of that song. At one time or another almost all of the Dischord folks worked for Skip before Dischord existed. Skip was also a huge Slickee Boys supporter and released some of there early stuff on LIMP. He released early Tommy Keene stuff. Ian & Alec MacKaye worked there, Ted Nicely (Razz, Tommy Keene), and many more. Check out his web site:
