I am certainly no audiophile..I don't think you can be if you listen to bad
pressing jamaican 45s..however...in the various trading groups I am in for
reggae singles..it is a WRITTEN rule that one can't use MP3s on CDRs.
Everything has to be in at least a WAV file. Thus, the CDRs that I have
recieved or made, I store them on my computer in a WAV format ( so takes a
lot of space and I am on my second external hard drive of just pure reggae
music)..
Now..people tell me that there is no difference between a good WAV file and
a good quality MP3..but I do hear a little bit of a difference..as Jeff
said..it does sound a bit warmer and the bass is not as tinny..however..is
it so much better (assuming it is) than a high-quality MP3? I don't know..
anyway..just letting you know that on the reggae scene..it better be a WAV
file..even it the record skips a few times..
