I just got a pile of CDs from a friend in Halifax, Nova Scotia, 
inlcuding one by a Halifax band, the Stolen Minks.

It's punky pop with a touch of rockabilly, some loose and ragged playing 
and a couple of covers ("Peppermint Twist" and Roger Miller's 
"Chug-a-lug"). The sound and energy recall early Go-Gos. More info at
