Is it true that everyone loves 16 LOVERS LANE now? I'm glad if so,
because I've always liked it, but my memory is that a lot of
Go-Betweens fans absolutely *hated* this album back when it first came
out. A lot of folks seemed to think it was too slickly produced and
that the songs were comparatively weak.
Personally, my favorite has always been LIBERTY BELLE AND THE BLACK
DIAMOND EXPRESS, with SPRING HILL FAIR running a very close second due
to the presence of "Man O' Sand To Girl O' Sea," by some distance my
favorite Go-Betweens song of all time.
