Rock Talk is a live, one hour, interactive talk show all about music.
Hosted by veteran Canadian musician Greg Godovitz and regular CFRB
commentator and guest host Bob Reid, Rock Talk gives CFRB listeners a
chance not only to talk about the music that has shaped – and
continues to shape – their lives, but they'll be able to talk directly
with the artists who create it.
"Music is such a huge part of everyone's lives, we thought it was only
natural that there should be a show that lets people talk about it,"
said Godovitz, a 35-year veteran of the music business with
chart-topping bands like Goddo and Fludd and pop acts such as The
Carpet Frogs and The Anger Brothers.
"Anytime I have friends over for dinner, it's only a matter of time
before the conversation shifts to music – who's hot, who's not, what
people are listening to … music is part of the fabric of our lives."
Although it's called "Rock Talk," the show will not be limited to any
one genre of music. Based on trends at play in the world of music, or
reflecting artists who are making news or coming to Toronto, the
discussion could easily focus on blues, country, R & B – whatever.
"We want to make `Rock Talk' a destination program for people who care
about music, who get excited about it, who follow it or otherwise make
it part of their lives," said Reid.
Rock Talk will feature guests who are established stars or up and
coming artists from the Canadian and global music scenes, with an
emphasis on live discussions that enable CFRB listeners to speak
directly with music's biggest names.
"'Rock Talk' is about way more than just so-and-so plugging his latest
album. Every show will have a definite theme, and we'll ask our
guests to give us their views on the subject at hand, so that they'll
be sharing their thoughts and opinions – just like Bob and I and our
listeners will be doing," said Godovitz.
"Rock Talk" airs Saturday nights, 7:00 – 8:00 PM on News/Talk 1010 CFRB.
