I too am a big Queen fan. And there's a Dutch musician (that naturally is
big in Japan) that all the Queen fans should check out - Valensia. This guy
sings like the second coming of Freddie, and his guitar playing...geez.
Aside from his own material, he has produced a "Queen Tribute" disc which is
amazing. It has some interesting takes on several Queen tunes (including a
letter-perfect clone of "Bo Rhap") he also does versions of a couple
pre-Queen tunes (a Smile song and a solo Mercury number) as well as a cover
of "All The Young Dudes" all in classic Queen style. Must be heard to be
believed.
I heartily agree that the most recent ANATO reissue with the 5.1 DVD is a
must listen. Lots of cool stuff that you may have missed in the mixes.
Also the CLASSIC ALBUMS DVD on ANATO is well worth the viewing - lots of
info tidbits on the production.
