Having seen Pezband basically soon after it's conception
back in the early 70's, and many, MANY times over the years,
it simply knocked me out Saturday night at IPO Chicago.
The emphasis was on Power and they delivered it well.
Mimi,Mick and John never lost a beat over the years and actually
sounded better and tighter than ever... yes, better with age!
Mimi certainly remains underrated as an amazing guitarist.
It was great hearing some of the classic Pezband songs
as well as some new ones and unreleased gems.
But for me it was them indeed "letting their roots show"
Showing their influences, Yardbirds, Sonny Boy Williamson et al.
Better still was watching some of the younger bands that performed
earlier staying and singing along in the crowd to a band
that helped pave the way for them as well.
A great weekend of music for this Power Pop Fanatic!
