Not being one of those acolytes, I don't care much about the hair-splitting 
of metal genres.  I grant that there's room for debate--Google just helped 
me find that Metal-Rules.com calls "Back in Black" the 4th best heavy-metal 
album of all time, while acknowledging that some may not call it metal.  In 
general, I'd guess that AC/DC is pretty widely accepted as a metal band by 
most people outside the realm of serious metal geeks.  Anyway, the call was 
for "hard rock songs" as well as metal.
