Pardon my off-topicness, but here's a recommendation for a music DVD I
think many of you would enjoy:
Last night I watched another DVD from the Dick Cavett Rock Icons series.
This one was all Janis Joplin and The Committee. I've come away with an
entirely new appreciation for this amazingly intense and talented
firestorm of a woman. I always liked her image, liked her singles, liked
what I'd read about what kind of person she really was (warts and all),
but seeing these live performances? I was absolutely riveted, couldn't
take my eyes off of her OR her
my-god-we-should-back-this-woman-all-the-time-don't-you-think-fellas?
band. Anyone else catch this? Wow. I'm loving this Cavett series so far.
