Ahhh...Wombles.
I was introduced to the Wombles a while back on casssette and had been searching
for it on CD. Got it about 3 years ago...The Best of the Wombles is 2 CD with more than 30 trax
of Womble-freakin'-everything and 2 new cute/cheesy video's of "Remember You're a Womble"
and "THe Wombling song" for your computer.
I went so far as to order the Best of Mike Batt cd. Not so good, I'm afraid. I like a few of
the tunes, but as he say's in the liner notes, he would've sounded more like his later stuff
if he'd not done the Wombles. Lucky for us he did the Wombles.
He also plays/wrote a song on the soundtrack for Watership Down, and co-wrote a song
with Colin Blunstone called "Bright Eyes"...it is beautiful.
