You put together a great list, but you didn't mention "While I Cry" and "Love Is Only Sleeping," which are two of my all-time fave Monkees tunes. "The Door Into Summer" was a truly amazing song.

Yes, and maybe then they'd get some serious consideration for the all-important (sarcasm) Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. That they aren't in yet is a crime, despite their "artificial" origins. You can't deny their influence on pop music and television, along with their talent and the quality of their music.

Yes, the ladies (Ginger, Maryanne, and Lovey) were The Honeybees and their tune "You Need Us" was fab.

My first record *ever* was "I'm a Believer," a cardboard 45 from the back of a cereal box. In answer to your question... if you want to hear the "Prefab Four" evolve from pop puppets to the fine group they eventually became, start with their debut album and check 'em out one by one. Or if you want to go straight to their best material, check out "Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn, & Jones, Ltd." (their best) or "Headquarters" (the band in control of their music for the first time). Enjoy!
