I just got the UK reissues of the first five albums, so The Moody Blues are
definitely on my mind now...

My favorite Moody Blues albums are the first one with the Hayward/Lodge
lineup, Days Of Future Passed, and the third one with that lineup, To Our
Children's Children's Children. I know a lot of people can't handle the
London Festival Orchestra's presence on Days Of Future Passed, but I think
it greatly adds to the overall vibe.

I would guess the general consensus Moody's favorite is In Search Of The
Lost Chord, and while I certainly like that album I would have to rank it
fourth, behind the aforementioned two and On The Threshold Of A Dream.

Incidentally, the UK reissues are absolutely wonderful! The first three
albums are two-disc sets, and all five have scads of very cool bonus tracks,
including previously unreleased BBC sessions! They're pretty expensive, but
if you order them through www.amazon.co.uk you can get them for reasonable
prices, and free shipping!
