geez, this whole lala thing has really stirred people up!!
i remember back in like 1996-98, when ebay was getting going, and I got onboard prettty early, but man, the backlash about ulterior motives, and fee costs, and the 'end of antique and junk stores' was deafening!
i seem to remember the same with Amazon! I am sure Bruce and Jeremy can tell you stories about how it cut into their market and profits, and without essentially doing anything wrong! Didn't Amzaon run at a loss for years and years and years, probably killing off smaller and more unique outlets, but at the end of the day, like ebay, won the market share!
Sinister? I doubt it! Sometimes it's just the new idea on the block, like the sorta similar NetFlix. "Mildly deceptive marketing strategy"? Well, could be, but this is the same world we all live in, that makes American Idol, and it's hacklike denizens the most popular show in America!!!!!
That said, I am playing the crap out of 78 Saab's first cd, and even UK hard rock goofballs The Towers of London!!
Just my thoughts, so please don't flame me!!!!!!!! it's cold and rainy here in Boston!!!!!!!!!
