<< The R&R Circus performance has the advantage of familiarity, as
we've all
watched and been amazed by it hundreds of times. Even the inferior,
abridged and
sped up VCR version of it is spectacular, never mind the full-blown,
cleaned up
DVD version.
Still, Daltrey is less than a 25%-er- I'll take a howling, mic-twirling,
confident, post-Tommy Roger with Pete prowling and leaping throughout
stage left
any day. They're truly operating on four cylinders. >>
We can only hope
Pete and Roger would've been twirling and leaping up
their usual storm at the Circus as well,
had it not been for the extremely cramped "stage,"
over-hanging lights and roving cameramen
(one right at Pete and Roger's feet),
and sundry other space, time, and shot-blocking restrictions
at play that day.
.....of course,
that didn't stop Keith Moon
when they visited the Smothers Brothers Show
a few months earlier ;-)
Gary "and the new Who movie IS supposed to be a Great one, btw..." Pig
