2004. I got it the day after I submitted my top ten and had to grudgingly
list them at #11 (with a turbo-charged bullet) - in retrospect my #3 of the
year.
New stuff sounded great and the band is amazingly tight. The bass player,
who is "putting a lot of notes into space", had a wireless rig...at one
point he limboed under the counter to behind the bar, poured a shot of
something down his gullet, saluted the doorman and retraced his steps to the
stage all without missing a beat. Evan (singer/guitarist) had enough energy
to light up the whole block.
They plan to "tour the shit out of the new record" so keep your eyes open.
But David, Anna and all other Los Angelinos...Spaceland show for free?? No
excuse for missing it!
