A friend of mine recently asked me (a) if I knew anything of the band "Starry Eyed and Laughing" and (b) is any of their stuff available on CD?
I haven't even heard of them, so I thought I would throw it open to the most knowledgable forum that I know of ....

yes, their two LP's from the 70s "Thought Talk" and "Starry Eyed and Laughing" have been reissued by Aurora Records in the UK called "That was Now and Now is Then" with lots of bonus tracks...i believe the label is run by SE & L guitarist Tony Poole, and is pretty dang good stuff...I think i got both the lps here in the US in the 70's for maybe a dollar a piece!!!

Not all is great, and there is a definite 70's vibe to the arrangements and general sound, but definitely worth getting if you love the Byrds....

and one of THE most spot-on versions of "Chimes of Freedom" you'll ever hear, outside of Byrds of a Feather or the Flamin Groovies maybe!
