Along with his brother (Epic Soundtracks) he was a member of seminal punk (or postpunk...whatever) group the Swell Maps and later formed the Jacobites and their many incarnations (French Revolution). He later released several solo records . Alternating among punk, acid folk, neo psych and many other genres he put out records on Rough Trade, early Creation records and probably many more I am omitting. The bulk of his stuff has been reissued on Secretly Canadian Records including the Exile on Main Street sounding material he did for Creation.
I hope that helps. -------------- Original message ----------------------
