he may be braiding himself a hemp sweater on Salt Spring as we speak....
speaking of which, i need some new hand sewn sandals and maybe some
of that handmade soap
i gotta ask my wife how we're doing on the patchouli .... and garlic
deodorant...
Saltspring Island is where a lot of the hippie crowd moved to but
it's pretty yuppie-fied
high end real estate value stuff going on over there.... it's part of
a bunch of islands on which GUARANTEED
some famous 60s or 70s folk or new age icon lives on every one..
Valdy is for sure on Salts Spring...
Randy Bachman is also there (who can forget those AWESOME Brave Belt
fringe jackets and handmade
leather bag promo bags). A lot of Hollywood types own monster
homes... some people actually own their own little island...
Kitsilano, a vancouver neighborhood where i work - used to be hippie
heaven in the 60s, kicked out the last
official hippie (that guy with the crazy store next to the old Zulu
Records) back in 1992, i think... this guy
had so much junk in his store, there was NO room to go inside.. i see
him wandering around occasionally here with a "hey, where'd everybody
go?" look...
But hey... no hippies... no Langley Schools Music Project... it's all
GOOD (and mellow, man)...
oops gotta go.... my chakra's tingling.... ohmmmmmm.......
