Be that as it may, Rickenbacker is not considered the easiest guitar company
to deal with. Their customer service is almost non-existent and their
warranties start ticking when the product hits the shelf, rather than when
the purchase is made. And anyway, they're still working with Musician's
Friend, so what's different? I say this as a proud Rickenbacker owner and
player, by the way. Suddenly I've become an apologist!

I can't stand the high pressure sales crap that goes on at Guitar Center,
although I must admit I have found a few deals over the years here in St.
Louis. For the higher end stuff, I tend to frequent locally operated shops.
