I have to admit that I sort of have a love/hate relationship with Guitar
Center.
On the one hand, I appreciate the massive selection, and the ease with which
you can pick up stuff there.
My now-wife bought me a Takamine acoustic from GC, and the experience of
buying it was really quite smooth and painless.
On the other, I can't stand all the heavy metal wanking that goes on there
when people are testing out the electri guitars, and there tends to be a bit
of high pressure from the sales folk.
And there's the added negative of them driving out local merchants with
their often lower prices. So I try to stay with my locally owned shop
whenever possible.
