My local GC (Sherman Oaks, CA) will not set up a guitar one buys there, which is a dubious business practice.  That doesn't make me -not- buy stuff there, but it means that I know GC's price won't be the final price.

Wondering if anyone has any read on the retailer, Guitar Center?  Good rep?  What kinds of experiences have folks had with them?  Have a colleague considering a venture with them.
